ISO 18587 «Translation services. Post-editing machine translation. Requirements» was developed by technical subcommittee ISO/TC 37/SC 5 «Translation, interpreting and related technology».
The standard contains requirements for the process of manual human post-editing of machine translation results and for the competence of editors, and can be used by translation service providers, their customers and editors.
ISO 18587 includes the following sections: terms and definitions, description of the post-editing process, requirements for the competencies and qualifications of editors, and also requirements for complete post-editing.
