ISO/TS 22163:2017 Technical Requirements and IRIS Certification Rules together constitute the IRIS certification system (IRIS Certification® rev.03 system).
ISO/TS 22163:2017 technical requirements are copyrighted by ISO. This document contains the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, as well as additional requirements for the railway industry. The IRIS:2017 Certification Rules are owned by UNIFE and contain all relevant rules related to the assessment methodology and certification process.
The IRIS certification process is based on a site-by-site approach, so multi-site certification, as in other certification systems such as ISO 9001, is not applicable to the IRIS certification process.
The scope of IRIS is the development and implementation of a global business management system in the railway industry, which includes:
- ISO/TS 22163:2017 Technical Specification;
- special questionnaire;
- maturity level and score;
- evaluation process with appropriate rules that must be followed by IRIS-approved certification bodies;
- IRIS web portal (database) and Audit tool (Audit-Tool – software);
- auditors ‘ records and audit results are stored in a database..
